The Rainforest Alliance Job Vacancy: Associate, Cocoa - Makassar

The Rainforest Alliance is and international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Based in New York City, with offices throughout the United States and worldwide, the Rainforest Alliance works with people whose livelihoods depend on the land, helping them transform the way they grow food, harvest wood and host travelers.

Position Summary:
The Associate, Cocoa is responsible to implement Rainforest Alliance’s cocoa program in Indonesia with a focus on building the knowledge and capacity of farmers: instilling good agricultural practices based on the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) Standards that protect ecosystems, workers health and safety, and improves quality of life for families and their communities. This includes delivering grant projects according to work plans, coordinating with field consultants and staff locally and internationally and supporting local partner organizations. The position will work in close coordination with the Manager, Indonesia and the Manager, Cocoa.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement projects focused on cocoa farmer training programs in Indonesia in Good Agricultural Practices and training in certification and traceability system requirements along the supply chain;
  • Under guidance from the Manager, take responsibility for project implementation, deliverables and budgetary execution. Prepare donor reports as per contractual commitments, and manage relationships with donors and partners. Ensure compliance with internal Rainforest Alliance procedures and act as project manager for assigned projects and support other project managers as assigned;
  • Supervise Rainforest Alliance’s implementing partners and coordinate with consultants on agreement scope of work and subsequent deliverables in the country; support their work with farmers’ groups and other stakeholders through providing information and guidance, and ensure that they have the necessary personnel, tools, materials and financial resources;
  • Manage subgrants and/or consulting agreements;
  • Maintain active dialogue with the broad group of cocoa stakeholders in Indonesia (eg exporters, government bodies, national extension services, technical partners) as well as maintain communication with partners.
  • Develop and maintain relations with key cocoa stakeholders including farmers and farmer groups, processors, exporters, NGOs, and representatives of important government agencies;
  • Coordinate with the Director, Program Design & Development, the Manager, and the Development team to write and present new proposals to donors;
  • Coordinate with Rainforest Alliance’ Evaluation & Research team to monitor and record results from our activities in collaboration with our implementing partners and research institutes;
  • Make sure that all activity in the field align with ESMP and SGIP. Support diagnostic studies of the certifications prior to external audits, and support IMS in managing their certification program; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may oversee staff.

This position oversees 2 Field Coordinators, Cocoa in Sulawesi Selatan

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training eemployees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Business Administration or another tropical agriculture-related field;
  • 4 years-relevant experience;
  • Proficient in most of office computer programs;
  • First-hand knowledge of the concepts of sustainable agriculture and the cocoa sector;
  • Understanding of business and value chains and experience in working with companies as well as farmers;
  • Administratively efficient with ability to track project progress and prepare timely reports;
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skill;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management;
  • Ability to operate efficiently in multi institutional relationships and to communicate with farmers, government ministers, donor representatives and/or company executives;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, assess priorities and multi-task with strong attention to detail; and
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30 percent of time.

National  Technical Advisor for BNPB
Job purpose
To provide support for BNPB in developing policies, guidelines and coordination systems. It includes capacity building of BNPB in disaster risk management and preparedness.

Job duties and responsibilities
Technical adviser at the national level for Directorate of Preparedness BNPB will support the development of disaster management system in BNPB. This may include several sub-activities, including organizing a series of activities to support the objectives, functions and duties of Technical Adviser as agreed in the work plan. The focus of activities may include support for the Center of Disaster Preparedness Situation Analysis (PASTIGANA) and/or the development of guidelines and Contingency Plan (Renkon).

Responsibilities:
  • To do analysis and assessment as well as input on the existing Disaster Management policy documents and the documents that will be developed.
  • In coordination with BNPB and other stakeholders, to analyze and develop strategies and plans for activities related to the Early Warning System (EWS), InaSAFE, Open Street Map (OSM), Contingency Plan and Simulation
  • To develop a system to improve institutional capacity in the BNPB
Periodic of Assignment
The duration of contract of the Technical Advisor for BNPB will start in April 2017 until June 2018.

National Technical Advisor for BPBD in South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province
Job purpose
To provide support for BPBD of South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in developing policies, guidelines and coordination systems. It includes capacity building of both BPBDs in disaster risk management and preparedness.

Job duties and responsibilities
Technical advisor at the provincial level will help BPBDs in developing disaster management systems in the target provinces. This may include several sub-activities, including organizing a series of activities to support the objectives, functions and duties of Technical Advisor as agreed in the work plan. The focus of activities may include the support for the development of disaster management policies, support the implementation of the control center and develop a system of institutional capacity building.

Responsibilities
  • To do analysis and assessment as well as to give input on the existing Disaster Management policy documents and the documents that will be developed for BPBD  South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara Province
  • In coordination with BPBD to analyze and develop strategies and plans for activities related to the Early Warning System (EWS), InaSAFE, OSM, Contingency Plan,  Simulation and the management of Emergency Operation Center (Pusdalops)
  • Develop a system for institutional capacity building, especially in BPBD of South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara Province
  • To support and strengthen the Disaster Management program at the provincial and district/city; by facilitating the development and/or revision of Risk Assessment for the Provincial and Regency/City, Disaster Management Plan, Contingency Plan, etc.
  • To become a connector for other units that are relevant in BNPB with related units in BPBD as well as other government agencies to maximize the function of BPBD where he/she will be assigned.
Periodic of Assignment
The duration of contract of the Technical Advisor for BPBD will start in April 2017 until June 2018.

Position Requirements
  • Education: Master degree (S2), especially in the field of disaster management, environment, climate change, spatial planning and other related fields.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience as a manager or technical personnel in Disaster Relief or similar sectors/fields
  • Experienced in Leadership Training Course or equivalent course/knowledge is preferred. 
  • Have knowledge and technical experience in designing, managing and implementing disaster management activities, particularly in preparedness for the emergency response 
  • Experience in working for International institutions is preferred
  • Experience as a trainer / facilitator in disaster relief
  • Work experience with government, other international organizations, large NGOs, governmental development agencies and public sector.
  • Strong skills in written and oral English and Bahasa Indonesia.

The Cash Accountant take responsibility as a cashier is in charges to prepare payment through petty cash and Bank in order to daily activities and input transaction into MYCASH in the finance Unit Regional Sulawesi Office related to GP-SCPP Project.
Task, Authority, and Responsibility
Spesific Tasks:
  • Received all payment request to staff and third party in Regional Office in South Sulawesi
  • Checking all payment request  in term of approval, arithmetical and properly coding to respective budget
  • Ensure all vouchers are adequate supporting documents and following SOP Swisscontact in general and in specific Program such as travel policy, cash management, and procurement standard are in place in cooperation with the RFO.
  • If point # b and # c unsatisfied Cash Accountant then return document  to the Requester
  • Prepare all payment by petty cash maximum IDR 5 million and bank transfer for payment above IDR 5 million.
  • Ensure payment administration in place and in timely manner after payment request signed by the RPM and RFO
  • Ensure petty cash fund is sufficient every time to tackle immediate payment
  • Conduct petty cash count with RFO weekly basis
  • Ensure payment information delivered by email to the respective staff
  • Entry Entire payments into MYCASH system after payment done according to correct code of account before handed to RFO
  • Filing all payment vouchers in Regional  Office South Sulawesi  in coordination with RFO
  • Assist RFO to control outstanding cash advance in Regional  Office South Sulawesi , especially the old outstanding CA (beyond one month and communicate with cash advance holder)
  • Other tasks arise during the course in needed upon requested by the RFO
Key Performance Indicator
  • Properly  Payment in Regional  Office South Sulawesi  to staffs and third party according to SOP
  • Ensure petty cash fund is sufficient every time according to SOP
  • Meticulous calculation and properly charging in accordance to budget
  • Assist RFO  to control CA vs liquidation in Regional Office South Sulawesi
  • Foster good relationship with Bank to gain the best banking services Support
Employee Requirements
  • University degree in Accountancy
  • Minimum of two years experiences in the relevant field
  • Previous working with one of NGO’s

The Global Fund bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Kesehatan RI dalam program penguatan sistem kesehatan, membutuhkan staf Monitoring and Evaluation untuk penempatan di Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan
Ruang Lingkup:
  • Bertanggung jawab atas pelaksanaan keseluruhan rencana GF HSS M&E workplan
  • Monitoring persiapan anggaran, rencana kerja untuk kegiatan HSS di provinsi dan kab/kota, termasuk skema pemrograman ulang, sehingga akan memastikan pencapaian tepat waktu sesuai dengan indikator Performance Framework;
  • Mendukung dan memfasilitasi  M&E Kab/Kota dan TST (konsultan) untuk menyediakan pengembangan kapasitas dan/ atau penguatan melalui pengawasan dan / atau mentoring langsung dari pelaksanaan rencana M&E, termasuk pada proses pelaporan;
  • Memastikan M&E kab/kota dapat menyediakan data dan pelaporan update progress M&E yang dilaporkan ke M&E Pusat setiap bulan;
  • Bekerja sama dengan unit lain (khususnya dengan Finance) untuk memastikan persiapan dan pengumpulan data dan justifikasi yang tepat untuk variance analysis report serta memastikan pencapaian indikator sasaran sesuai rencana kerja, termasuk untuk memastikan keterkaitan antara pencapaian program dan keuangan;
  • Berkoordinasi dengan seluruh unit termasuk PMU Kab/Kota dan Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi dan TST untuk mengembangkan dan/ atau memperkuat kemitraan dengan mitra yang tersedia di daerah:
Kriteria:
  • Tidak memiliki ikatan dinas (pegawai negeri/TNI/Polri dan sejenisnya);
  • Tingkat pendidikan minimal D3 diutamakan sarjana bidang Kesehatan atau bidang terkait lainnya;
  • Memiliki pengalaman minimal 2 tahun dalam monitoring dan evaluasi bidang Kesehatan
  • Memiliki kemampuan MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
